Tensions escalated in the West Bengal Assembly as Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, responded to the suspension of BJP MLAs, including himself, by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Adhikari stated, "We protested for an hour against the suspension," highlighting the disagreement with the decision.
The suspension stems from the MLAs raising their voices against the events in Sandeshkhali. Notably, Adhikari, along with four other MLAs, expressed their intent to head towards Sandeshkhali despite Section 144 being imposed in the area. In a cryptic remark, Adhikari hinted at potential repercussions for Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar, stating, "Whatever the outcome, DGP Rajeev Kumar will have to suffer."
